For courses that do not meet the number of places after the second phase, a third application period may be opened. These applications can be evaluated in order of entry, being exhausted when they are filled out, or they can be serialized within a period to be defined by the School.

International student is a student who hasn't Portuguese nationality, who is not national of a state of the European Union, or others that do not legally reside in Portugal for over 2 years. It is also not considered International Student, student who applies to higher education by special access schemes. For more details, see Decreto-lei nº. 36/2014 de 10 de Março [PT].
Candidates for this access must have qualifications equivalent to those required for national candidates, for all cycles. For access to degree courses, the candidates must have qualifications which, in the country where it was obtained, confer the right application and enrollment in higher education in this country. Alternatively, are also welcome applications from holders of a diploma of secondary education or Portuguese equivalent degree. All these qualifications will have to be validated by the competent authority of the country where the qualifications were gained.
For entrance into a Masters course or PhD, international students will need to demonstrate the necessary knowledge to pursue their studies in the course they are applying.
Yes. For courses in Portugal is required for international students a certain level of knowledge of Portuguese, required to attend that course, and will have to demonstrate these skills. The frequency of any of the integrated courses of study for undergraduate and Master requires an independent knowledge of Portuguese (level B2, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages [EN]).
When the applicant is the holder of portuguese secondary education, demonstration of mastery of Portuguese corresponds to approval Entrance tests defined for this cycle of study in the year of entry. The entrance examinations used for the application should be made in the calendar year or in the three calendar years preceding the application. For courses taught at ISA, candidates must make an application to be presented at Academic Division, within the agreed timeframe. The application is subject to payment of a specific fee [PT].
The application must be accompanied by Copy of Passport or Identity of foreign, and documentary evidence of the condition of international student, according to the existing regulation [PT]. Must also present proof of completion of Portuguese or equivalent secondary education in the country where it was obtained, validated by the competent authority of that country, as specified in the Regulation.
For the academic year 2025/2026, the value of the anual rate of contribution for Bachelor's degrees is €3000, Master's degrees is 2000€/3000€ (in accordance with the course chosen) and PhD's degrees is 2750€. This amount is increased the rate of registration, enrollment and school insurance (see table of fees [PT]). These payments are not subject to refund in case of cancellation.
